Bazman volcano is a stratovolcano in SE Iran, 180 km SSW of the city of Zahedan. The volcano has a well-preserved 500 m wide summit crater with minor fumaroles, which suggest it could be still active.

Background

Bazman volcano has numerous flank vents that have erupted fresh-looking viscous lava flows of olivine basaltic composition. A steep-sided lava dome on the north flank produced a viscous lava flow that traveled to the north before diverging to the NW and NE.
