The volcano continued to show a gradually decreasing trend of internal activity, is the conclusion of the latest bulletin SERNAGEOMIN published.
Seismic activity dropped drastically yesterday, with only one volcanic tectonic quake and low-energy continuous tremor registered. A white steam and gas plume with no ash rises about 1500 m above the volcano. Sernageomin lowered the status of the volcano to yellow.
Activity has increased again. Sernageomin reported 92 seismic events during 2-3 Jan and the occurrence of a seismic swarm on the evening of 2 Jan. A degassing plume was observed rising up to 1350 m, whose intensity was without apparent correlation to seismicity.
Seismic activity has decreased and no new surface activity observed. During the past 24 hours since last night, SERNAGEOMIN only detected one tiny volcanic earthquake.
SERNAGEOMIN reported a decrease in seismic activity. No new surface activity was noted, but the alert level remains at orange.

Seismic and degassing activity is on the increase, Sernageomin reported in its latest bulletin (29 Jan). During 28-29 Jan, a total of 345 volcanic earthquakes (plus more than 400 not counted ones because below threshold) and 6 hours of volcanic tremor were recorded.

OVDAS-SERNAGEOMIN reported that during 29 January-4 February the web camera near Copahue recorded white gas plumes rising 350-1,550 m above the crater and drifting E and SE. Seismicity fluctuated but mostly remained at low levels. The Alert Level was lowered to Yellow on 4 February.

Seismic and surface activity remained low. However, SERNAGEOMIN also recorded 2 deep seated tremor pulses yesterday morning at 08:36 and 11:43 local time, wich could reflect magma movements at depth.

Intense internal (seismic) unrest continues. Sernageomin reported 25 volcano-tectonic and 106 long period events as well as episodes of tremor during 19 hours between 22-23 Jan. An explosion signal was recorded at 23:55 local time (22 Jan) that corresponded to a brief increase of the height of the gas plume to 1500 m above the crater.

Incandescence from the crater was observed on some nights. Satellite images showed plumes drifting 10 km E and SSE during 10-12 January.

Chilean scientist think that new eruptions from the volcano could occur any time. SERNAGEOMIN's latest bulletin informs that the seismicity under Copahue has shown a significant change since 31 December. A number of quakes both related to fracturing of rocks and fluid movements appeared at shallow depths of 4 km and have been becoming shallower. Also, a change in the plume towards becoming denser and grayer, i.e. more ash-rich, has been noted in recent days. For this reason, the alert level was raised back to orange.

On 5 January seismicity increased as well as gray emissions observed with a web camera. The Alert Level was raised to Orange.
