In Oregon, USA bebte heute die Erde mit einer Stärke von 4.0. Laut Angaben des United States Geological Survey ereignete sich das Beben am Montag, dem 8. Februar 2021, abends um 21:34 Lokalzeit 65 km östlich von der Stadt Gresham (Multnomah County, Oregon) in einer Tiefe von 6 km. Die Stärke, genaue Lage des Epizentrums und Erdbebentiefe können in den nächsten Stunden noch korrigiert werden, während Seismologen die Daten manuell auswerten und ihre Berechnungen verfeinern.
Auch das European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC) meldete das Erdbeben und gab ebenfalls eine Stärke von 4.0 an.
Anhand der vorläufigen seismischen Daten müsste das Beben von vielen Menschen in der Nähe des Epizentrums gespürt worden sein. Nennenswerter Schaden sollte bei dieser Magnitude nicht aufgetreten sein, außer möglicherweise heruntergefallenen Gegenständen, kleinen Rissen u.s.w.

Family member who lives very close said their windows shuddered, they at first thought a tree hit their house. The next morning some of my pictures were askew . I live on the west side of town on Chenoweth rd.
