Fuego volcano (Guatemala) activity update

Activity remains mostly effusive. The active lava flow towards the Ceniza Canyon was 800 m long this morning. At the same time, mild strombolian activity occurs at the summit crater with sporadic explosions every few hours, ejecting bombs to about 100 m above the crater and producing ash clouds rising 200-500 m height above the crater.

Fuego volcano (Guatemala) activity update: increasing explosions
Strombolian explosions have been gradually returning at the volcano. 5 were recorded between 18-19 and 13 during 19-20 Nov. They produced gray ash columns of 200-500 meters above the crater and dispersed up to 8 km towards south and southwest. The explosions ejected incandescent material to 100-150 meters above the crater and generated weak avalanches on the upper slope. Read all
