Fuego volcano (Guatemala) activity update

Activity remains at typical average levels, characterized by intermittent, sometimes strong strombolian explosions that eject abundant incandescent material to 100-200 m above the crater. The bombs create avalanches on the upper slopes.Ash plumes rise to 600-700 m height above the crater. Shock waves and audible degassing accompany these explosions.

Fuego volcano (Guatemala) - Smithsonian / USGS Weekly Volcanic Activity Report for 30 July-5 August 2014 (Continuing Activity)
During 30 July-5 August, INSIVUMEH reported weak to moderate explosions at Fuego with incandescent blocks expelled 100-200 m above the crater accompanied by minor gray ash 300-400 m above the crater that drifted S. Shock waves from those explosions produced rumbling that rattled structures up to 4 km from the volcano.
