Hakone volcano (Japan): ground uplift of 15 cm during 2 weeks at Owakudani valley

Deformation at Hakone volcano (Owakudani valley in circle) during 7-21 May based on interference SAR data (GSI)

Unrest at the Owakudani valley continues. Fumarolic activity has increased drastically. Ground has lifted by up to 15 cm during 7-21 May, or up to 20 cm when compared to early October last year.
