Nishinoshima volcano (Pacific Ocean, Japan): highly elevated temperature

After a three months calm period with little or no activity, the Japan Coast Guard (JCG) did a flight observation by Haneda Air Base aircraft to confirm a highly elevated gas emissions and the inner summit crater temperatures identified in thermal images.
Strong fumarolic activity was observed in the inner summit crater.
The color of water, mostly brown to dark brown, was entering the sea with high acidity.
