The high-level effusive-explosive eruption of the volcano continues.
The lava continues to effuse from the western eruptive fissure onto the west-southwest slope at high rate. The lava flow has been traveled west again after changed its direction towards the south before as continues to burn the local vegetation and reaches the inhabited areas. The lava flow has increased in length of about 3,000 meters and branched off into four main arms, currently about 800 meters.
The lava-fountaining (paroxysm) episodes with intense strombolian activity continue to occur from the Mackenney summit crater. The explosive activity generated large and dense ash plumes that reached an estimated altitude of about 12,000 ft (3,700 m) and drifted approx. 50 km to the south-southwest of the volcano.
