Pacaya volcano (Guatemala): activity increases

Mean seismic amplitude (RSAM) plot of Pacaya during the past weeks (INSIVUMEH)
According to the latest bulletin of INSIVUMEH, this is also reflected by an increase in seismic amplitude, likely reflecting the rise of new magma. It is possible that the activity at the surface will soon evolve further, producing stronger strombolian explosions, or even lava fountaining, and/or the effusion of a new lava flow (something Pacaya's activity has been typical for).
