AVO reported that after a small explosion at Pavlof was recorded on 19 October and before 25 October clear satellite and webcam views did not show any deposits associated with the event. Weakly elevated surface temperatures and a small steam plume were occasionally visible. Read more... read all

On 19 October small explosion signals at Pavlof were detected by the infrasound network located at Sand Point and on the local seismic network, prompting AVO to raise the Aviation Color Code to Yellow and the Volcano Alert Level to Advisory. Read more... read all

The elevated seismic activity observed in mid May has again declined to background levels. TRhe Alaska Volcano Observatory lowered the Aviation Color Code and Alert Level to GREEN/NORMAL.

Low-level seismic tremor and increased steaming has been observed; Pavlof is notorious for not giving much warning before erupting so AVO has raised the alert as a new eruption may start at any time.
