A seismic crisis had started on 29 July on 05:13 local time, followed by the opening of 3 eruptive fissures at around 12:00. The fissures, which erupted low lava fountains and fed several lava flows, were located on the northern flank (600 m from Formica Léo) covering a total length of approx. 450 m, on top of the July 2018 lava flows.
Eruptive intensity decreased gradually and ceased today at 04:30, marking the end or at least a pause in the eruption. However, given the small volume of lava erupted, it is possible that activity resumes in a near future.
If the eruption really has ended already, it would not be extremely unusual, but certainly one of the volcano's shortest eruptions in recent times.

Piton de la Fournaise volcano (Reunion Island, France) - Smithsonian / USGS Weekly Volcanic Activity Report for 24 July-30 July 2019 (New Activity / Unrest)
OVPF reported that a seismic crisis at Piton de la Fournaise began at 0513 on 29 July and was accompanied by rapid deformation. Tremor beneath the N flank began to be recorded around 1200, indicating the likely start of the eruption, though inclement weather conditions prevented visual confirmation. OVPF visited the site and conducted helicopter overflights around 1630 and observed three active fissures, with a total length of 450 m, that crossed the July 2018 flows on the NW flank (600 m from the Formica Léo). ...
