Sakurajima volcano (Kyushu, Japan) activity update: 1-2 small to moderate vulcanian explosions

The Tokyo VAAC reported that during 11-17 January explosions from Sakura-jima produced plumes that rose to altitudes of 1.2-2.4 km (4,000-8,000 ft) a.s.l. and drifted NE, E, and SE.
