Sangay volcano (Ecuador) activity update: occasional small ash eruptions, thermal anomaly at summit crater

A pilot observed a small ash eruption from the remote Sangay volcano on 28 July. A thermal signal at the summit is visible, suggesting lava dome growth and or strombolian activity.
