3 rumblings, one strong at 20:46 on 24 Dec and two moderate at 03:00 and 05:33 h local time on 25 Dec, were heard. They lasted between 30 to 50 seconds. 2 moderate explosions were observed at 05:58 and 06:02 and expelled gray ash columns to 700 and 800 m height above the lava dome and drifted southwest, causing ash fall on the areas of La Florida and San Marcos Palajunoj. The lava flows remained weakly active and produced few avalanches from the SE lava flow front.
