Santa Maria / Santiaguito volcano (Guatemala) activity update

3 rumblings, one strong at 20:46 on 24 Dec and two moderate at 03:00 and 05:33 h local time on 25 Dec, were heard. They lasted between 30 to 50 seconds. 2 moderate explosions were observed at 05:58 and 06:02 and expelled gray ash columns to 700 and 800 m height above the lava dome and drifted southwest, causing ash fall on the areas of La Florida and San Marcos Palajunoj.
