The Alaska Volcano Observatory (AVO) reported that ash emissions from the ongoing explosive eruption slowed down shortly after as the alert level for the volcano was raised to "red" a few hours ago.
Sporadic explosions continue to erupt at regular intervals of 1 per hour sending small ash plumes to an altitude of 10,000 ft-15,000 ft (3,048 m-4,572 m) that extended to the northwest of the volcano.
Ash emissions continue at decreased levels and therefore the alert level for the volcano was lowered to "orange" again.
