A new phase of activity has begun at the volcano. Starting from 20:00 local time yesterday evening, tremor increased, followed by ash emissions since 01:30 this morning.
The activity has been near-continuous and producing a moderately large plume of ash drifting into westerly directions. Light ash fall is expected in downwind areas of the Valle Central.

OVSICORI-UNA reported that activity at Turrialba remained low during 8-9 June, characterized by minor degassing, along with small, sporadic long-period and low-frequency earthquakes.
