Veniaminof volcano (Alaska): paroxysm with lava fountains and ash emissions to 15-20,000 ft altitude

Ash plume rising from Veniaminof earlier today (Perryville webcam, FAA)
This episode of activity, accompanied by elevated levels of continuous tremor, has so far been the strongest since the start of the eruption on 10 June.
At present, activity has decreased again, but it is possible that similar or even stronger eruptive episodes continue to occur in the near future.

Veniaminof volcano (United States) - Smithsonian / USGS Weekly Volcanic Activity Report for 28 August-3 September 2013 (Continuing Activity)
AVO reported that during 27-29 August seismicity at Veniaminof was characterized by discreet episodic tremor bursts, likely associated with lava effusion and minor ash emissions. Satellite images detected prominent thermal anomalies at the intracaldera cone.
