Stromboli (Eolian Islands, Italy): The volcano went through a small peak of activity during yesterday morning until today: Starting from about 16:00 local time, spattering activity and explosions from the northern vent area increased significantly.
Abundant glowing material began to accumulate on the sides of the cone and roll down the Sciara del Fuoco. Starting at 16:40 UTC, a lava flow emerged from the northern crater area that started to travel down the upper sectors of the Sciara: a small surge of magma had arrived obviously.
This surge was rather small - by today early afternoon, the volcano's activity had returned to lower, average values and the lava flow was no longer active.

Etna (Sicily, Italy): Things remain very dynamic at Europe's most active volcano: Since yesterday morning, strombolian activity at the New SE crater began to increase, followed by the appearance of a lava overflow issued from a vent on the southern flank of the cone, which traveled towards the southwest.

The mean amplitude of the volcanic tremor continued to grow reaching high values and its source was found to be at shallow depths beneath the crater - all pointing towards a possible new paroxysm.
This trend reversed itself again temporarily, and then recovered and seems to be on the increase again now: it looks as if the New SE crater is undecided whether or not to go for a paroxysm or not...

Fagradalsfjall (Reykjanes Peninsula, Iceland): A visitor to the main eruption site in Geldingadalir narrowly escaped a self-provoked catastrophe and cruel death by lava flow. Yesterday (11 June 2021) around noon, a person could be seen on the webcam approaching and presumably attempting to climb the side of the active cone, when a large surge of lava erupted from it and started to rapidly flow downhill towards him or her.
Fortunately, the tourist managed to ran away and the lava flows missed him or her, but it was clearly a very close call. The person must have had made the rather long way across older, already solidified parts of the lava flow field to finally approach and probably climb the active cone, which contains a small lava lake and rhythmically - typically every 10 minutes or so - erupts bubbling fountains and surges of lava that overflow its rims, even though these episodes have been becoming weaker and more rare in the past days.
