Bogoslof volcano (Aleutian Islands): no recent activity, eruption probably ended
Thu, 6 Apr 2017, 15:48 | BY: T
No more activity has been detected at the volcano during the past 3 weeks (since 13 Mar) and therefore the alert level was lowered to "Yellow". Most likely, the recent eruption which had started in Dec 2016 and consisted of a series of intermittent moderate to very strong explosions, which profoundly changed the island's topography by creating a new bay (the crater area), has come to an end.
