In the last 24 h Popocatepetl volcano had 66 low-intensity exhalations accompanied by emissions of steam, gas and sometimes minor amounts of ash. On 8 Dec morning, there have been 3 exhalations with ash rising about 500 m above the crater. ... Read all

Popocatepetl volcano (Mexico) - Smithsonian / USGS Weekly Volcanic Activity Report for 5 December-11 December 2012 (Continuing Activity)
CENAPRED reported that during 4-11 December seismicity at Popocatépetl indicated continuing gas-and-steam emissions that contained minor amounts of ash. Incandescence from the crater was observed at night. Cloud cover often prevented observations; gas-and-steam plumes were observed drifting NE, E, and SSE during periods of clearer weather. ...
