Sakurajima volcano (Kyushu, Japan) activity update

The volcano had a series of stronger vulcanian explosions over the past days, with ash plumes rising up to 3.7-4.3 km altitude.A new webcam video from youtube user cubhf137 shows a strong eruption with lightning in the ash column on the evening of 27 Feb:

Based on information from JMA, the Tokyo VAAC reported that explosions from Sakura-jima during 27 February-3 March and 5 March generated ash plumes that rose to altitudes of 1.8-3.7 km (6,000-12,000 ft) a.s.l. and drifted S, SE, and E.
