Suwanose-jima volcano (Tokara Islands, Japan): intermittent mild explosions

Volcanic activity continues from the volcano's active On-Take crater. JMO reports eruptions almost on a daily basis, sometimes several, with ash plumes rising up to 5-6,000 ft altitudes and typically drifting SE.It is unclear what nature this activity consists of exactly, but likely intermittent strombolian to vulcanian-type explosions.
