Current seismic recording from Veniaminof (VNHG station, AVO)
"The Aviation Color Code has been increased to Orange and the Volcano Alert Level to Watch. Seismic tremor increased over the past several hours, and highly elevated surface temperature were observed in satellite images this morning. Lava effusion has likely resumed, but no ash emissions have been observed in satellite images. Web camera images are obscured by clouds. This is a similar level of eruptive activity that first began in June 2013." (AVO)

The Alaska Volcano Observatory recently lowered the alert status from Orange/Watch to Yellow/Advisory. Although some weak tremor continues to be recorded under the caldera, no more eruptive activity seems to have taken place during the past weeks. On 20 September AVO reported that, based on a decrease in seismicity at Veniaminof and no eruptive activity observed by satellite or the web camera over the previous week, the Aviation Color Code was lowered to Yellow and the Volcano Alert Level was lowered to Advisory.
